About the Library

Community Library is located in Sunbury, Ohio, approximately 20 miles north of Columbus in eastern Delaware County. The library serves the six townships that comprise the Big Walnut Local School District, a population estimated in 2002 by the US Census Bureau to be 17,474.

Community Library's mission is to create environments for all to access information, pursue interests, discover community heritage and interact with each other. To that end, the library provides a collection containing approximately 100,000 books, 250 periodicals, 6,500 movies, 1,800 music recordings, 3,500 audiobooks.

The library also provides Internet access to its patrons who, through the Ohio Public Library Information Network, may access research databases as well as Ohio's KnowItNow 24x7 live reference service. Computers for word processing, a photocopier, fax machine and typewriter are also available for patron use.

In addition to providing access to print and electronic resources to fulfill its mission, Community Library also provides engaging, high-quality, family-centered programming for patrons of all ages.
